Recently, I came across some fascinating mountain biking footage and I immediately had to know more. The footage I had seen was both jaw-dropping and mind-blowing.

Check out just some of the many adrenaline-filled videos below:

Could you imagine riding a bike down the most rugged, dangerous, steep and terrifying mountain? Well, Kelly McGarry, Cameron Zink, Kyle Strait and Andreu Lacondeguy are a few of the very talented and daring mountain bikers who have made history in the Red Bull Rampage. One common characteristic these men all share share is their ability to overcome fear.

Ok, so what is the Red Bull Rampage?

The Red Bull Rampage takes place in Virgin, Utah. The Red Bull Rampage track is vicious and life threatening with many hills, steep sides and tall ramps with long distances.

Kelly McGarry was the first mountain biker to officially complete and land a 360 degree backflip in 2013 in the Red Bull Rampage. He backflipped over a 75 ft gap! This is incredible! It is already a big deal just to clear the ramp so the fact that Kelly had also completed a backflip was outstanding! Kelly placed 2nd in the 2013 Red Bull Rampage.  Kelly attempted this backflip once again in 2014 in the Red Bull Rampage, but things did not go as planned and he ended up plunging towards the ground taking a painful fall and placing 12th.

Kelly was originally born in New Zealand and travels all around the northern hemisphere. He grew up inspired to see the world which explains why he loves traveling and meeting new people. As you can see from the photo below, it must’ve been very easy for Kelly to develop such a love for mountain biking when he grew up surrounded by such tall, beautiful, and rugged mountains.  He is easy going, hilarious, a positive role model.  The key to his success is he has lots of fun mountain biking.

Cameron Zink is another phenomenal mountain biker. In 2013 Cameron Zink landed the biggest step down backflip in 2 wheel history.  He landed this backflip off of a 70 foot drop called the Oakley Icon Sender.

Check out the immaculate video below:

His moment was specifically remembered in 2014 when he again made history in the Red Bull Rampage. Cameron Zinc was the first to achieve the biggest, most massive 360 step down over a gap with a distance of about 78 ft. It’s fair to say it’s one of the largest 360 drops ever done on a mountain bike. Cameron placed 2nd in the 2014 Red Bull Rampage.

Check out the video below:

So if guys like Cameron and Kelly are placing 2nd in the Red Bull Challenges, you might be wondering who is placing 1st. Let’s talk about Kyle Strait (2013 Winner) and Andreu Lacondeguy (2014 Winner). Check out their videos below to view their mountain biking terrain which won them the title of first place:
