EXPLODING PUMPKINS!

Hey S.T.E.M. and SCIENCE students!!!!

Halloween is less than a week away.  So this week it makes perfect sense that we will be blowing up pumpkins in Mr. Herold’s S.T.E.M. classes and some Science classes!

To explode the pumpkins, we will be using Carbide Reagent.  Carbide is “binary compounds of carbon with an element of lower or comparable electronegativity” and Reagent is a “substance for use in a chemical reaction, especially for use in chemical synthesis and analysis”.

Come prepared to get messy and experience something new and exciting! There will be tons of explosions all around the Hillcrest campus.  Be forewarned because the first time I saw and heard this loud explosion, I nearly dropped my phone as you will see in the video below.  The kid next to me actually did drop his phone, hope it did not break!  Exploding pumpkins will be here, there, and everywhere, so exciting!!
